I'm really excited to give you the latest update that the SST Sugar Land Dolphins Junior Solar Sprint team advances to compete at the National level.
Our wonderful Dolphins team is formed from three 5th grade students Deborah O, Yazen M, and Syeda F - all of them are National Technology Association members who have worked really hard since January. The workload is almost double this year because of the COVID 19. There were many additional requirements and restrictions that we had to comply with. Our team creativity used the most modern skills and technologies to prototype four different solar car models.
First, our team compete at Texas Gulf Coast – Regional level and secure his spot in Texas State by ranking 1st place. The virtual race at Texas State was really hard and exciting. All of the participants did their best and the greatest results came on April 21.
I would like to congratulate all of the students who worked super hard through the process. Special thanks to all awesome parents and their support, especially for giving a chance to their kids to work Saturday right before the crazy winter storm. Exceptional gratefulness also to my colleagues and our school administration, and their support.
It’s a really great honor to have the fastest solar car in Texas State. Our team will make sure to keep working hard to represent SST - Sugar Land in the best way.
