Temporary Mask Mandate 8/25 - 9/7

SST Family,

SST students greatly benefit from in-person learning and so a safe return to school is a top priority.  We also believe that in-person learning, the school program, and the environment should remain as uninterrupted and as consistent as possible. In order to keep our students and staff healthy and safe in light of the heavy circulation of the contagious Delta variant, the CDC recommends universal indoor masking by all students (age 2 and older), staff, teachers, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.
Thus, effective from August 25th  to September 7th, SST will issue a mask mandate and require all students, staff, and teachers to wear an appropriate face mask at all times while on campus.
Masks have been shown to be one of the effective ways to stave off the spread of COVID-19 and the Delta variant of COVID-19 and it is the belief of SST leadership that enacting this mandate will prevent the unfettered spread of COVID-19 in our community allowing for a greater focus on academics and bringing about a better future through better education.
The current two-week mask mandate represents a window of time during which we will stay abreast of the latest information and guidance from health authorities and when it is deemed safe to no longer require masking in our schools we will happily make the move back to mask-optional campuses.
